The best thing that can happen to you is to hit rock bottom. No that is not a typo, your worst tragedy is your biggest savior. When you hit Rock Bottom, you have nothing more to lose, whatever you choose as your next step, you’re all in.
Whatever nonsensical rules you held onto is the reason you’ve failed. what greater reason do you need to let off all that has ever held you back? You start out empty, and YOU get to choose what you put in. Like a prisoner released from Jail, you’ve done your time, you served your sentence, you did what society told you to do, so to college get a degree, get a job, get married, have a family and then Society failed you.
Now that you are out, paid for doing it their way, now its time to do it your way. You owe no one an explanation, and you have no more excuses. It’s easy to risk it all when you have nothing left to risk. When you’ve hit rock bottom, you’ve lost even your ego so you have nothing expect success to attain, you are already living the opposite.
For those of us who have lived our entire lives in fear, of not wanting to rock the boat, not sounding too arrogant, of not wanting to be disrespectful, not wanting to ignore our responsibilities and duties, when we hit rock bottom it is liberating.
The game is reset.
All bets are off, all debts wiped clean. You get to start over. You no longer have to carry the burden of inherited rules and expectations. You get to go crazy and live that dream, start that business, take that trip, learn that course, explore that alternate lifestyle, and write that book. You get to recreate your life as you see fit and live life on your terms.
Hitting Rock bottom sets you free, so wipe that tear, rub that dirt from when you had fallen and rise. Rise to the new free you.
Go forth, live, dream and experience.
You are finally free.
